What is the difference between regular and gel polish?

There's quite a few differences between the two, especially when it comes down to application, durability and removal. Think of regular polish as a solid layer of paint and gel polish as a light, durable shell. We offer complimentary regular polish when applicable with most of our hand services but gel polish is an upcharge. Gel polish is more durable and glossy than regular nail polish, requires curing under a UV lamp and can last up to 2 weeks, which is basically the time it takes for your nails to grow out. Additionally, gel polish requires soaking to remove while regular polish just takes a few quick swipes of acetone. Basically regular polish is your standard ol' reliable, fast and easy but gel polish is the upgraded, shinier and longer-lasting favorite of a lot of our clients!

What is SNS dip powder?

SNS is simply the name of the dip powder brand we trust and stock, while dip powder is essentially a technique to apply color to your nails by dipping your nails into a piqmented powder rather than polishing or brushing color onto them. It is a popular alternative to both gel polish and acrylic powder, falling into a nice niche in between the two as they don't require UV light and are generally better for your nails. The results feel lightweight, smooth and super durable, lasting up to 2-3 weeks.

What is liquid sculpting gel?

Sculpting gel is a popular alternative to artificial nail tips. Using a guide, a gel is applied to your entire nail bed and then cured under UV light, typicaly followed by polish. The aftermath is strong and flexible!

Isn't UV light bad for me?

We know the idea of being exposed to ultraviolet light can be scary and we recognize the risks involved in using it to cure gel polish and products. While the risks of malignant health problems due to exposure to UV nail lamps are extremely low, doctors recommend applying sunscreen to your hands before coming in and lotion regularly. We assure you this process is safe and carry the same amount of risks as almost everything else, but we'll be happy to accommodate you in any way. If you feel uncomfortable, let us know and we'll recommend you popular alternatives!

Do you carry matching gel and regular polish?
